Ranting and raving and playing GM is stupid.

Six games in and this genius blows up the team.

Great to have a keyboard and spew nonsense.

I think if you could of got a second for Stafford you would have already, guy has been poop for 3 or so years living on that one time he hit 30 goals.

Moulson isn't going anywhere with that contract, Stafford is no secret to be just good enough to get you beat, if Mantha was available, Myers would already be in Detroit.

Why did Darcy trade Sekera for Mcbain again? I liked Darcy's trades but that one was horrible. Why did we sign an older Brian Gionta instead of keeping fireplug Nate Gerbe? Another puzzler, letting him go.

Personally, I think Nolan's price has been met to tank, I'm sure of it. Meszaros was dead weight years ago, Torrey Mitchell is mush, this team has no soul and Nolan goes through the motions. ???? He knows that we know etc. I'm thinking Eichel all the way, don't even tease yourself until that draft lottery is held.

Why is Zadorov not able to play in the AHL like Honka?

You always talk about the Sabres going after McDavid or Eichel, and then you're upset and looking to make trades and make the team better when they are tanking, and putting themselves in the perfect position to get the original players you talked about
This season was about looking like we made some moves so it wasn't blatantly obvious that we are trying to tank. You tank this year, get one of the top 2, plus two other nice picks with our other two first rounders, and then the rebuild is complete. After this year is when the foundation is formed and you move forward from there building our dynasty. Only problem is that there are too many other teams sucking just as hard or worse. Carolina, Edmonton, and Colorado all scare me when it comes to the tank. We need one of the top two picks, or all of this will have been for naught.

Because Canadian junior players in the OHL cant play in the AHL until they are 20 years old. A sometimes dumb agreement because it really hampers the development of those players who are too good for Juniors but not good enough for the NHL. But, a team like London, who wants to make money, doesn't want to see all their good players leave to go play in the AHL, especially the oldest ones at 19.

Hopefully when the CHL unionizes that agreement goes away.

Because he got the pick that was used for Compher. McBain was a throw in.

Now is as good a time as any to re-group and to re-evaluate the plan going forward
- garth

Isn't the plan to bottom out and get the top pick? If so, there's no need to regroup or re-evaluate. Everything is fine the way it is right now. You can't have everything Garth!

"The Stars have made the decision to play 2014 first-round draft pick Julius Honka in the AHL this season."
Honka played last season with Swift Current of the WHL, and would typically have to return there under the agreement between the NHL and Major Junior hockey. However, he was on loan from Finland to the WHL, so he’s not allowed to go back to junior this year, according to Nill. That meant the choices for the Stars were to send him back to Finland or send him to the AHL. The Stars have decided to place the 18-year-old with the Texas Stars and leave him there for the season.

“It was a decision that we talked about, and he wanted to play in the AHL, so we feel good about this,” Stars general manager Jim Nill said. “In seeing him in Traverse City and in training camp, he’s a very mature player who is more than ready for this. If we didn’t think he could handle it, we would have made a different decision, but he proved himself.”

Since he was no longer with his WHL team, the rule doesn't apply I guess. The rule doesn't state you have to be 20 to play in the AHL, it only states that if you are under 20 and have a CHL contract you cant play in the AHL.

I'm guessing he no longer was under contract for any CHL team?

Maybe, but I don't think the CHL leagues would be very receptive of losing their best players to the AHL before they have to. They have to sell tickets too.
